On behalf of the Division of Corrections and Sentencing, the Student Affairs committee is launching the Mentoring for Success with DCS program, a continuation of the 20-for-20 mentoring campaign! There are four tracks within our 1-on-1 mentorship program:
Academia:
1. Student mentoring track
2. Tenure-track faculty mentoring track
Alternatives to Academia:
1. Student mentoring track
2. Early career mentoring track
Connections will made based on individual goals and interests. Participants can expect to receive/provide
- Research support
- Teaching support
- Progress-specific guidance
- Service support
- Networking guidance
- And, more!
What the Mentorship Committee will do for the matches:
- Provide expectations around communication and goals
- Offer suggested themes and deliverables for virtual meetings and phone calls Sendreminder emails to connect with matches
- Highlight the work and accomplishments of matches
The program’s official timeline is from August 2021-August 2022, although we encourage matches to stay in touch after that time! We are also requesting a minimum $20 donation each year of participation to help grow continued student awards and scholarships.

If you are interested in becoming a Mentoring for Success mentor or mentee, please sign up using this link by August 15, 2021, or by selecting the word “Here!” at the bottom of the attached flyer. Once recruitment closes, the DCS Student Affairs Committee will be in touch about your e-introductions
