DCS Alt-Ac and the Oregon Social Learning Center Presents:

Researchers with Lived CJ Experience

Navigating through the trenches of a doctoral program is exceptionally difficult – the uncertainty of the process itself and not knowing what is waiting on the other side of graduation. This process is infinitely more complex and challenging for students and scholars with criminal legal system experience and a conviction. Departments and academic mentors rarely understand the unique needs of these students. Four panelists with lived experience each discuss their unique journey through the academy and offer recommendations for upcoming researchers, departments, and academic mentors.

A collaboration between the DCS Alt-Ac Series and Oregon Social Learning Center, this rockstar panel pulls back the curtain for all researchers and students to learn more about how to support and center the voices of these scholars. Featuring:
